Paul is an accomplished mediator with a diverse background spanning mediation, finance, public accounting and sales.  As a dedicated member of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators (NJAPM), Mr. Miller has established himself as a trusted mediator with expertise in civil, family, and divorce matters. He holds a prominent position on the rosters of mediators for Economic Aspects of Family Law Cases and Civil, General Equity, and Probate Cases, having successfully completed all required training mandated by the Superior Court of New Jersey. As a Member of the NJ Supreme Court Fee Arbitration Committee, Paul regularly arbitrates legal fee disputes.

Paul’s mediation practice is focused on the mediation of divorces, including equitable distribution, spousal support, child support, parenting plans, and same-sex marriage, and Civil mediation in the areas of General Equity, Construction, Real Property, Book Account, Other Insurance, Complex Commercial, Contract/Commercial Transaction, Action on a Negotiable Instrument, Tort and other within a variety of industries including Financial Services, Retail, Construction, Consumer Products, Media, High Tech, Communications, Travel and Transportation, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Manufacturing and Industrial Equipment.

 

In addition to his mediation practice work, Paul generously volunteers his mediation skills for the Supreme Courts of Bergen, Union and Passaic Counties, contributing to the resolution of legal disputes and conflicts within these communities, and as a member of the Bergen County Fee Arbitration Committee, arbitrating legal fee disputes between lawyers and their clients.

Before embarking on his mediation career, Paul devoted over two decades to public accounting and finance, amassing a wealth of knowledge and experience. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), he initiated his career at Wiss & Company, a respected regional accounting firm based in New Jersey. There, his professional focus encompassed a wide array of financial services, including tax consulting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, business valuation, forensic accounting, and operational consulting. He catered to a diverse clientele including multi-generational family businesses, ranging from startups to small IPO public companies, and played a pivotal role in assisting clients with critical financial matters such as cash flow projections, corporate financing, debt consolidation, and staffing strategies.

Following his tenure in public accounting, Mr. Miller assumed leadership roles in various companies, where he took charge of financial operations and negotiated crucial business contracts. His responsibilities included overseeing financial accounting, reporting, and tax matters, as well as managing supplier relationships, finance arrangements including asset securitizations, leases, employee contracts, and more.

Paul's career trajectory further evolved as he transitioned into the role of Director of Business Development for prominent global consultancy and software firms. In this capacity, he specialized in selling and negotiating complex professional services contracts, further demonstrating his prowess in the world of finance and business.

​

Outside his professional career, Mr. Miller is a passionate advocate for various causes, embodying his commitment to community service and philanthropy. He has served as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee at The Craig School, a non-profit institution dedicated to children with learning differences. He also founded and served as Relationship Manager for Accenture's Corporate Citizenship program with Covenant House NYC, where he focused on equipping homeless youth with essential job readiness skills. Additionally, he has contributed as an Executive Coach at Robin Hood, NYC, providing mentoring to nonprofit leaders to enhance operational performance. Beyond these roles, Paul has shown his dedication to the environment and urban affordable housing by volunteering as a trail builder and Appalachian Trail maintainer for the NY/NJ Trail Conference and as a construction volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Fairfield University. Today, he continues to offer his financial, tax, and business expertise to individuals and businesses seeking guidance in these critical areas, reflecting his enduring dedication to the betterment of his community and the success of his clients.
