Myth v. Reality: Review Attorney = Unnecessary Expense

Hiring a “review attorney” to review mediated terms can be a worthwhile investment. To be effective, a review attorney is to be consulted prior to signing any agreement. (Consultation after signing is like putting on a seatbelt after you’ve already been in an accident.) Your “review attorney” owes loyalty to you, and as such will advise you on the law as it applies to your matter. The “review attorney” will make sure that you not only understand those rights you might be giving up, but will evaluate with you whether the terms reached are complete, doable and realistic.
